2005 Hometown Hero Award Recipients
Crickette- A Belchertown Dog who saved her master's life during an
epileptic seizure.
Francisco Rodriguez- Ludlow High School senior who pulled a man from his
truck after it collided with a utility pole.
Betti Boggis & Mark Gaudette - Big Y employees who brought a truck
driver back to life after cardiac arrest using an AED machine.
Sandra Johnson - Baystate Heath nurse who organizes and hand sews quilt
for the Children's Miracle Network that honors local children who have
passed away each year.
Cary Gray - Chicopee athletic trainer who gave CPR to a man at a
baseball game last summer. Stabilizing him until paramedics could
arrive.
Nicholas Markos - 13 year old from Southwick who saved his family and
his home from a kitchen fire by using a fire extinguisher to put out the
flames.
Chief Francis Nothe & Firefighter "Bill" Manseau - Two Wilbraham fire
fighters who not only saved a woman while they were off duty but also
went to school teaching fire safety to children which is what kept her
safe until their arrival.
Jerome Whitsett - 12 year old from Agawam who has saved his mothers life
on many occasions. His mother has diabetes and often times counts on
Jerome to let the EMT and other emergency response personnel know what
is going on, while stabilizing his mother until their arrival.
