Jewelry Care

Gemstones and precious metals do need special care. The following are some helpful hints that Hannoush Jewelers recommends in order to maintain the beauty of your personal jewelry.

DO:

Use a smooth soft 100% cotton cloth to gently wipe each piece of jewelry clean of make-up and skin oils after each wearing. Always use 100% cotton since paper, polyester, and coarse fabrics often contain wood fibers or synthetics, which impart fine scratches.

It is recommended that you remove rings and bracelets when using strong cleaning products such as ammonia type cleaners.

Take off your jewelry when participating in sports, cleaning, gardening, or heavy work, to avoid harm to gemstones and metal jewelry.

Before wearing your jewelry, check for loose gemstones and clasps.

Put your jewelry on after washing and applying any makeup/hair spray.

Store them in separate sections of a jewelry box, to avoid the jewelry scratching the gemstone and metal surfaces.

Wash your jewelry with warm soapy water.

Clean your jewelry regularly to maintain sparkle and beauty.

DO NOT:

Wear jewelry while swimming in a swimming pool. The chlorine pool chemicals can cause damage to various gemstones and gold.

Use harsh chemicals or abrasives.
