Technomarine
A chronograph on a transparent
plastic strap, selling 50,000 models in the first
year and creating an entirely new category of luxury
fashion timepieces, one which triggered a revolution
in the fine watch industry. Initially conceived as a
“vacation souvenir watch”, the “Raft” paves the way
for a new generation of fine timepieces. In 1999,
aware of the potentially short life span of the
“Raft”, Dubarry decides to extend its longevity by
adding diamonds, and the “TechnoDiamond” was born.
The industry claims that he's “insane”, and Franck
Dubarry single-handedly manages to revolutionize the
market with a product born of the never before
conceived and almost “sacrilegious” association
between plastic
and diamond. Dubarry then creates the first
combination of a diamond-paved bezel on a
diving chronograph with an interchangeable gel
strap. More than 150,000 models are sold
while thousands of look-alikes begin to flood the
market. The name TechnoMarine
becomes synonymous with unbridled creativity and
individual sophistication, strong character and
product integrity. The company has formed a niche in
which fun and
sophistication commingle, a revolutionary concept in
a mostly conservative industry.
Sales skyrocket, and for three years the company
surfs the “TechnoDiamond” wave.
More than just a design, the "TechnoDiamond" is a
lifestyle portrayed through a watch in which people
can identify themselves. 2004: Franck Dubarry's
creative nature and strategic vision inspire his
latest collections for TechnoMarine, which are even
more technically challenging and artistically
inspiring: from the “Maori” line to the exquisite
“tourbillions”, from the efficient performance of
the “Nitrox” to the exclusive colors of the new
“TechnoDiamond ChronoCeramique”, another industry
innovation from TechnoMarine. The TechnoMarine
collection now offers a range of products to meet an
ever expanding global consumer base, all executed in
TechnoMarine's signature combination of luxury,
fashion and fine watch-making.
